  • Juandre Kruger will leave Northampton at the end of the season to re-join the Bulls. The powerful lock joined the Saints on their return to the top flight and has quickly established a place among the best lineout operators in the Guinness Premiership.

The 24-year old made his name for the Blue Bulls in 2008 and returns to South Africa with the aim of winning a Springbok cap.

"The coaching staff, the management team, the facilities and the whole culture at Loftus is every rugby player's dream and I am very excited about my second spell with the Bulls," he said. "What I have experienced at the Bulls in 2008 is something that I do not want to exchange for anything. I would like to make a substantial contribution to the Bulls when I arrive in June and ultimately I want to represent South Africa."

  • Ricky Januarie has returned to training with the Stormers ahead of the Super 14. The Springbok scrum-half has just finished a short loan spell with the Ospreys, helping the Welsh region into the quarter-finals of the Heineken Cup.

"Ricky has always had the fight, and that is what they needed and I suppose that's why they opted for a scrumhalf like Ricky," coach Allister Coetzee said. "In the northern hemisphere, they don't play an expansive game and they don't play a nine that just feeds the fly-half all the time.

"He was quite effective around the rucks and mauls and defensively. From our point of view we're happy he had all the game time under the belt and he's match-ready. Obviously, it's warm-up conditions over here now and I'm looking forward to seeing him play."

  • Olly Morgan has signed a new two-year deal to remain at Gloucester. The fullback is the eleventh player to commit to the club in recent weeks.

"We're pleased with where we're at in terms of recruitment, and the stability of having so many guys extending their contracts this early means we can focus our attentions on making sure we achieve what we've set out to for the rest of this campaign," head coach Bryan Redpath said.

  • Sale Sharks captain Dean Schofield will leave the club at the end of the season to join French Top 14 side Toulon on a two-year deal. The 31-year-old lock will link up with former Sale director of rugby Philippe Saint-Andre at the Stade Mayol, where Jonny Wilkinson, Tom May, Kris Chesney and former Sharks No.8 Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe also ply their trade.

"I have just turned 31 years of age, and the opportunity to join Toulon gives me a chance to play in the French Top 14," he said. "I have made so many friends whilst playing for Sale Sharks and am sure that, in years to come, I will be back sat in the stands watching the team play."

  • England internationals Louis Deacon, Dan Hipkiss and Jordan Crane have led seven players in re-signing with Leicester. The trio are joined by tight-head Dan Cole, scrum-half Ben Youngs, wing Matt Smith and flanker Ben Woods.

  • The Highlanders rounded out their Super 14 pre-season preparations with a 35-17 trial defeat of a Suva Presidents 15 in Fiji on Saturday. In hot conditions, the Highlanders scored five tries to three in a result which follows a 31-24 defeat of the Chiefs in their opening trial match. They have no further trial matches before opening their campaign against the Crusaders on February 13.
