Owen Farrell has signed a new contract with Aviva Premiership finalists Saracens.

The 19-year-old fly-half, who will battle new recruit Charlie Hodgson for the No.10 jersey next season, has taken his chances well this season following a long-term injury to former Springbok Derick Hougaard - another to extend his deal with the club on Tuesday.

"I'm still young and have a great deal to learn, and I am very happy to commit my future to a club that matches my ambition," he said. "When I think about what this group can achieve together... well, it's really exciting and special."

Farrell has been joined in putting pen to paper by the club's USA international centre, Chris Wyles.

The 27-year-old is set to make his 50th appearance for Sarries in Saturday's Premiership final meeting with Leicester and was the first of 10 signings to be announced by the club on Thursday.

Youngsters James Short, Jackson Wray and Jamie George all signed up for more along with Wyles' international colleague Hayden Smith and South African duo Justin Melck and Mouritz Botha.

"I have never been happier in my career," Wyles said. "There is a special plan at this club, and I am very pleased to be part of that plan."

Veteran lock Hugh Vyvyan, meanwhile, has agreed a new part-time deal with the club, where he will combine rugby with other ventures. The 34-year-old is currently tied with Wasps' Simon Shaw as the Premiership's most-capped player.

"Saracens is becoming widely renowned for the way it works hard to help players make the transition between professional rugby and a successful career, and this is another example of the club thinking 'out of the box' and assisting a player," he said.
