Toulon fly-half Jonny Wilkinson will decide his future in February.

The 33-year-old's current deal with the French Top 14 side is set to expire at the end of the season. And while the former England international has hinted he is willing to extend his stay in France, he told French newspaper, L'Equipe, that he has yet to decide whether to prolong his career.

"I am able to continue, but it is a delicate balance," he told L'Equipe. "Like when I was in Newcastle, the question is not what I want to do but do what is good for my team."

Toulon are five points clear at the summit of the French Top 14 table and on the brink of qualifying for the latter stages of the Heineken Cup after four straight wins from their opening four fixtures.

And Wilkinson, who remains a central player for Toulon despite the acquisitions of Frederick Michalak and Matt Giteau, is desperate to help them to the double this season.

"It would be the best way to reward them," he said. "If you ask me if we can do the double? I say yes."
