Saracens will have Owen Farrell back fit before the end of the season after he underwent knee ligament surgery on Friday.

Farrell sustained the injury in Saracens' 18-6 loss to Clermont Auvergne on January 25 and was subsequently ruled out of the Six Nations. But the prognosis handed out by Saracens will see him return at the end of April meaning he will be available for the season run-in.

The time-frame will see Farrell miss Saracens' Champions Cup quarter-final against Racing Metro at the start of April and also potentially their semi-final if they see off the Top 14 side. With Farrell out injured, Charlie Hodgson is expected to hold down the No.10 jersey.
