Logan glad to be back in Scotland fold

Kenny Logan has welcomed his return to the Scotland squad after fearing his international career could have been over.

Logan was dropped halfway through the Six Nations campaign earlier this year after failing to find form.

But he has now been included in Ian McGeechan's squad for the forthcoming matches against Australia, Samoa and USA.

"It's great to have my foot back in the Scotland set-up and I intend to make the most of my opportunity," said Logan.

"I know that I attracted a fair bit of criticism for opting out of the tour to New Zealand but there is no doubt in my mind that the lay-off has done me a lot of good.

"I hadn't had a summer off for about four years and I feel very refreshed because of it.

"Most importantly, I gave my back a rest. It had been in pain after virtually every training session or game but there is no sign of trouble at all."
