Scotland flanker Alasdair Strokosch has signed a new contract with Perpignan which will keep him at the Catalan side until 2016.

Strokosch joined the Top 14 team in 2012 and was originally contracted until the end of the 2013-14 campaign but Perpignan have acted quickly to keep their flanker. He made 22 appearances for the club in last season's French league and helped them to the European Challenge Cup semi-finals.

He continues to play for Scotland on the Test stage and lined up in June's Tri-series tournament for Scott Johnson's men and Perpignan president Daniel Besson was delighted with the news the flanker opted to pen a new deal.

Besson said: "Alasdair has brought his experience to the group and will continue to do so. The club is proud to have him in our squad until 2016."
