Springboks winger Bryan Habana could have lined up for Stade Francais next season had he listened to South African second-row Anton van Zyl's advice.

Habana has signed a lucrative contract with Toulon but Van Zyl has revealed he attempted to persuade the Boks flyer to journey to Paris instead. But Habana opted for Toulon and will link-up with the likes of Ali Williams and Drew Mitchell next term.

"Unfortunately, he did not listen to me because I told him it would be better if he came to Stade," Van Zyl told RCM. "I told all my former teammates that if they wanted to come to France, they had come to Stade Français."
