Toulon president Mourad Boudjellal has confirmed the Top 14 side have signed Ospreys lock Ian Evans on a three-year deal.
French newspaper Var Matin claims Boudjellal announced the news on Tuesday evening. The news will come as a huge blow for the Welsh Rugby Union as Evans is a key player both for his region, the Ospreys, and country.
Rumours of Evans' switch to Toulon have been doing the rounds in the past month and although the player said he was in no rush to decide where his future lies, with his contract up at the end of the season, reports soon emerged that he had agreed to join the Welsh exodus to the Top 14.
Clermont Auvergne have already confirmed the recruitment of British & Irish Lions centre Jonathan Davies on a three-year deal from the start of next season while the futures of Leigh Halfpenny, Sam Warburton, Alun-Wyn Jones, Bradley Davies and Adam Jones are yet to be confirmed.
Evans will join Georgian back-rower Mamuka Gorgodze and hooker Guilhem Guirado at Toulon next season with both rumoured to have signed for Boudjellal's side.
