Montpellier have signed ex-Wallaby Ben Mowen on a three-year deal, according to reports in France.

Midi Olympique claims Mowen will link-up with his new side after the forthcoming season of Super Rugby. Mowen stunned Australian rugby on Thursday when he announced he was turning his back on the Wallabies to take up a contract in Europe.

Mowen captained Australia on their recent tour of the northern hemisphere and had emerged as a key player under new boss Ewen McKenzie. But he has spoken of the lack of time he gets to spend with his family and personal reasons have been cited as the reason behind his decision to up sticks and leave Australia.

In other Top 14 news, Grenoble have signed Jonathan Wisniewski ahead of next season while Lionel Beauxis, the man who Toby Flood will replace at Toulouse, has agreed terms with Bordeaux-Begles.
