Toulon coach Bernard Laporte has had his 13-week touchline ban extended by a further three weeks.

Laporte was slammed with the lengthy suspension after he lashed out at referee Laurent Cardona following Toulon's 22-21 loss to Grenoble in January. Laporte described the official as "hopeless" and "incompetent" and claimed the referee "robs us everytime".

Toulon opted to appeal the original decision but the French Rugby Federation's response was to extend it meaning Laporte is not allowed access to the field or changing room until June 3.

The decision has incensed Toulon owner Mourad Boudjellal who has said he will use "all possible procedures" to challenge the increased suspension. He told rugbyrama: "Who has the legitimacy to prohibit people from talking with other people? People think they have the right to take Bernard Laporte's mobile to see who he phoned at half-time. It is unthinkable."
