Top 14 leaders Clermont Auvergne conceded three first-half tries at home to Bordeaux-Begles but battled back to earn a 26-26 draw.

Bordeaux opened the scoring in the first minute as Marco Tauleigne scored a try, while both Baptiste Serin and Nans Ducuing crossed the whitewash before the break.

However, their hosts fought back after half-time adding tries of their own from Aurelien Rougerie and Nick Abendanon, before a Patricio Fernandez penalty gave them a three-point lead with 18 minutes left.

That advantage would not last, though, as Pierre Bernard levelled up the scores from the kicking tee to deny Clermont a fourth win of the season.

Montpellier are now three points behind the pace-setters after they ran in six tries during their 44-20 defeat of Stade Francais.

Marvin O'Connor, Timoci Nagusa and Paul Willemse each helped themselves to a brace of tries while scrum-half Benoit Paillaugue kicked 14 points.

Stade struck back with a Meyer Bosman score and penalty try, with Jules Plisson adding 10 points with the boot.

Meanwhile, Toulon also scored six tries as they saw off La Rochelle 45-24 at the Stade Mayol.

Josua Tuisova scored a try either side of the break while Juan Smith, Steffon Armitage and Theo Belan added to a penalty try. Jonathan Pelissie converted all six and added a penalty.

In the day's other game, Racing Metro beat Grenoble 23-14 thanks to tries from Joe Rokocoko and Xavier Chauveau.
