Adam Jones leads out Wales on the occasion of his 50th cap at a packed Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. Wales, coming off the back of a Grand Slam season meet the World Champion Springboks on the first day of a series of Autumn Internationals across Europe.

These sides met recently, in South Africa, and Wales to be honest, struggled. It will be a different matter in front of their own fans however. That said, this is a formidable South African team - very much a first XV and we're set for a cracking contest. The roof is closed, the pitch looks in great condition, the pre-match formalities are drawing to a close, and it's time for action

Pienaar kicks again, S Jones takes this time and is bundled into touch by Burger. SA run a quick lineout, but are brought back. Wales get hold of it and clear down field to the SA 22.

South Africa kick again, deliberate tactic this, Williams takes, but Pietersen picks his pocket, stealing possession. SA build momentum goes through phases, eating up the ground, slipped to Jacobs, and he's over

We're underway again as Wales look to get a foothold in this game. SA look really up for this

Wales restart deep, Jantjes takes and clears into the Wales half. They take their lineout ball and S Jones dinks over the top. Jantjes takes, SA secure and kick long again

Wales scrum, nice and solid. they run it off the back, making 10 yards. back to Jones who kicks long

Wales kick back and Habana has a dart, but he's well marshalled by the chasing players

off the top and Wales put it through the hands. good continuity here, debutant Powell gets his hands on it, but the SA defence is solid, getting across

Wales start again from their own half, Lee Byrne with a bit of trickery there, moved to Wyn Jones, but again Wales infringe at the ruck, off their feet this time. SA put the penalty into the corner

huge bust from Andy Powell on the Welsh 10m line. He spots a gap close in the ruck and he's clear, makes his pass, onto R Jones and he's hauled down in the SA 22, but Wales infringe again, and SA clear

SA get back and Wales' momentum is lost

SA drop out long, and Wales build again in their own half. Powell gets it again, and steps out of a tackle. He's having a great game so far

Freekick for feeding! one for the purists there. Wales go with ball in hand and are now into the SA half

half break from Halfpenny - strong run that, but again SA scramble back

pause in play with two Welsh injuries - one of which is S Jones - so Halfpenny lines up the kicks at goal... which he coolly slots

SA have ball and go on attack. Chip over and Byrne takes it over his line and dots it down. 22 drop out awarded though, lucky for Wales

SA lineout in Welsh territory, Burger makes a great break, moved left, lovely hands, to Pienaar on the Welsh 22, he ghosts through a gap, and takes it all the way to the line

Wales scrum 5m out - Powell rumbles it, going sideways rather that forwards, but Wales get it back and clear up to their 10m line

Straight down the middle from S Jones, Jantjes takes and clears really well up to half way

it's slow ball though, with Wales soaking up the pressure. SA look a bit laboured, but Pienaar takes a good option, kicking, but Wales knock on and it's a SA scrum

Halfpenny tees it up, a good 50m out over to the right. Tough shot this. Just drifts right

SA get it though and manage to clear up field

SA return the kick, Byrne takes and he kicks long. It;s too long though, going dead so we come back to the Wales half for a Springbok scrum

Wales attack again but the handling isnt quite right and SA get it, kicking it clear. Pienaar this time - he's got a huge boot on him and he's not afraid to use it

S Williams gets it in heavy traffic. steps once, twice, three times, it;s beautiful, but he's going no where, then wham! Pietersen smacks him. But Williams gets it back. Nice little snippet of action there. Williams and Pietersen are having a great battle this afternoon

Wales attack on half way and Byrne finds a gap. He's clean through, onto Halfpenneyas Wales streak into the Welsh 22. But ut's that mabn Pietersen again, getting back and making the tackle. Ball loose, S Williams knocks on

long welsh throw, tapped down to Peel, pick and drive and the Welsh backs are on the front foot. Out to Hook who passes straight to De Villiers, who trots it in from half way. Not the best start for Hook there

Wales get a freekick from the restarts and start to build. Hook keeps it hand this time, nearly gettting through. Quick ball, Byrne breaks again, deep into the SA 22, great angle there

SA infringe, somewhat cynically, and Hook lines up a simple chance

Powell to the fore again, as play moves towards the SA 22 but SA slow it down

Good couple of minutes from Wales there which gets them back into touch with the lead. R Jones takes the short restart and Wales have ball again

Powell breaks superbly from the scrum, streaking away from defenders. It's kicked long. Wales chase well, Jantjes hangs on in the tackle and Wales tap and go. Deep in the SA 22 here, switched left, but SA are across. Fourie kills it

Wales have a penalty and clear up to their 10m line. Peel is scragged at the ruck, but Wales keep possession and kick

play settles down with and SA lineout on the Welsh 10m line. SA put some pattern into their play, with Januarie sniping and first receiver hitting it up

Wales nick it and run from their own 22. The passing is a bit laboured though, so they come back the other way. Line break from Rees gets them going, up to half way

SA hold the line though, and we come back for the original offence. Hook tees it up

Exchange of kicks ends with a ruck in the SA half. Wales pour forward, pressuring the SA ruck. Ball squirts out, Wales hack on, into the SA 22 - but Peel knocks on

Januarie drives off the scrum. Back to Pienaar, who clears. Wales lineout just outside the SA 22

SA have ball and territory, but there's no ambition. Two drop goal attempts, both miss. Wales kick it back, Burger rumbles, but Januarie knocks on under pressure
