The Ligue Nationale de Rugby (LNR) has confirmed that they will call Toulon owner Mourad Boudjellal in front of a disciplinary committee following his outrageous outburst in the wake of their defeat to Clermont Auvergne.

The Toulon owner slammed Christophe Berdos for his decision to sin-bin David Smith in the second-half saying: "I had my first refereeing sodomy in the [2010] semi-final against Clermont. I've just had my second tonight.

"It appeared to hurt the first time but it was just as bad this time. We will review the images not on Youtube but on YouPorn. Clermont are a great team. They did not need it."

And it is no surprise that Boudjellal's comments have been met with short shrift from the LNR. Their president Pierre-Yves Revol has confirmed that he will face a disciplinary committee.

"I personally find that these vulgar and course metaphors are unacceptable to all and in the first instance harmful to rugby," Revol said. "If he [Boudjellal's] wants to engage a debate about the refereeing, he should use other means to do it.

"Mourad Boudjellal's remarks bring only discredit to rugby."

Boudjellal has remained on the defensive and has refused to withdraw his remarks. "By the aggressiveness of my words, I want to say that the referees are the cuckolds of the development of rugby," Boudjellal told L'Equipe. "What hurts is when a person does not acknowledge their errors. I will withdraw my remarks the day that referees apologise."
