Clermont Auvergne have announced that two of their key players have committed their future to the Top 14 giants.

Forward duo Jamie Cudmore and Davit Zirakashvili have both penned new contracts with Les Jaunards. The pair follows in the footsteps of Brock James, Julien Bardy, Wesley Fofana and Noa Nakitaci in committing their future to the Heineken Cup quarter-finalists.

Cudmore's contract is for next season plus an optional year while the 27-year-old prop Zirakashvili has penned a new two-year deal with, again, an option for an additional year. Cudmore arrived at Clermont back in the 2005-06 season and has become a key part of their second-row though has endured his fair share of disciplinary issues.

And director Jean-Marc Lhermet was delighted by the duo's renewed commitment. "These extensions are great news for the club," Lhermet said. "Jamie and Dato [Zirakashvili] have been key players for many seasons in the rise of ASM Clermont Auvergne. They are part of our group, our family and I am very pleased that we can keep this continuity for the next few seasons.

"The best recruitment policy is to keep our best players. I think the extensions of Dato and Jamie show this. In addition they share the same pride and commitment in the coluors of ASM Clermont Auvergne and these players have very few come close to them on the world stage. We are very proud to count on them for the coming seasons in our pack."
