Former All Blacks scrum-half Byron Kelleher has left Stade Francais a year before the end of his current deal.

The 35-year-old's contract was due to expire at the end of next season but Kelleher has opted to leave the Parisian giants. He arrived at Stade after four seasons with Toulouse and has since made 12 Top 14 appearances for the club. But in a statement on his website, Kelleher announced that he will now be on the lookout for a new deal.

"I've been released from my contract with the Stade Francais," Kelleher said. "I will now focus on my next season. I want to send all my best wishes to the guys.

"I sincerely hope they will have a great end of season, and that they will have other excellent ones. This is a great group that deserves to earn titles.

"I am a player, and I will still be a player for sure next season. Then, I will work on many projects."
