Former Argentina fly-half Gonzalo Quesada has been confirmed as Racing Metro's new coach with Pierre Berbizier set to become the Top 14 club's general manager role.

Club president Jacky Lorenzetti has opted to act after a turbulent campaign punctuated by a player revolt and the high-profile departure of former France international Sebastian Chabal and assistant coach Simon Mannix.

The 38-year-old Quesada, who joined the Paris-based club following Mannix's exit, steps up from his role as backs coach while Berbizier, who has been in charge of the side since 2007, will no longer have a hands on role with the team.

"We are going to recruit on forwards coach and we have confirmed Gonzalo Quesada as leader of the coaches," Lorenzetti told the Le Parisien newspaper. "We're giving him the keys to the truck. The two coaches will be autonomous. Pierre will be able to act as a consultant but will no longer be hands on."
