Afflelou steps down as Bayonne chairman
February 24, 2014
Alain Afflelou has stepped down as chairman of Top 14 side Bayonne although he will remain the club's major shareholder.
Afflelou, who took over in December 2011, said he wanted to make way for someone who was "present day to day and involved full time in Bayonne". Afflelou has lived in London for the past two years.
He said the timing of his announcement was to allow his successor to be involved in decisions on "budgets, recruitment and governance" for next season.
He will be replaced by Philippe Neys who has been on the club's supervisory board for several years.
