Toulon have signed French international prop Fabien Barcella on a one-year deal from Biarritz, according to sources in France.

Since making his debut against Italy in March 2008, Barcella has won 20 international caps - though his France career has recently by hampered by a succession of injuries. Barcella will follow Biarritz team-mate Alexandre Menini to the European champions, after he signed earlier this week as medical cover for Andrew Sheridan.

After making his name at Auch, where he won the Pro D2 title, Barcella moved to Biarritz, where has been for the past six seasons. He will leave a side which look destined for relegation for one currently at the summit of the Top 14 table.
