France will be without a host of their first-team players for the three-Test tour against Australia in June.
Following a disappointing Six Nations campaign, Saint-Andre has opted to rest a few of his players ahead of their summer tour. France have a similar issue to England with their first Test of the tour coming just seven days after the Top 14 final so there would be a fair number of players unavailable due to that.
Saint-Andre will name a 31-man squad on Wednesday with a number of inexperienced players in the mix. "Some will be rested," he said. "I've had chats with some Top 14 coaches and some players really need a rest because they're a bit burnt out.
"They need to recuperate and above all must be able to have a real off-season before the upcoming World Cup year. But others have played 30-35 matches and have a massive desire to play for the France team."
Regardless of the nature of the squad, Saint-Andre is adamant his team are going to Australia to win all three Tests. "Put simply, we have to win the matches. It's the last tour before the World Cup so it'll be important in that respect, for the team's spirit. We're going there with a lot of positivity, desire and hope."
