French papers are claiming that French coach Jean-Claude Skrela is set to step down from the job after the World Cup.
The 50-year-old Skrela, who has been heavily criticised despite getting his side to Sunday's quarter-final with Argentina, is said to have informed the president of the French Rugby Federation Bernard Lapasset of his decision three weeks ago.
Joining Skrela, who coached France to successive Five Nations Grand Slam's in 1997 and 1998, on the sidelines is joint coach Pierre Villepreux, who has been appointed technical director.
According to the reports Stade Francais Bernard Laporte, who led them to the 1998 national championship, is favourite to take over at the helm.
