Ntamack doubtful for All Black game
French centre Emile Ntamack (pictured) has strained ligaments in his left knee and is a doubtful starter for Sunday's semi-final.
Ntamack, has already been singled out by the All Black's vice captain Jeff Wilson as the danger man in the French side, and his loss would be a serious blow to French hopes.
"He will need at least two days of complete rest if he is to have any chance of recovering in time," said Thierry Hermerel, the French team doctor. "After that it is just a matter of seeing what progress he has made."
Ntamack said he didn't know whether he will be fit in time. "I'm not feeling too good at the moment," he said. "I had the same kind of injury last year before we played Argentina at Nantes and I had a tough three weeks before I was back to my best."
He said he felt that he suffered the injury with his last kick of the quarter-final win against Argentina in Dublin.
Wilson described the Toulouse player as "sensational" only yesterday. "On his day he's as good a player as anyone in the world. He has a wonderful change of pace and he can just glide past people. No matter what stage of the game it is, he's always dangerous."
Ntamack has bee back at his best form recently after switching to the centre from the wing, where he has won the majority of his test caps.
