French call up extra prop

Prop forward Sylvain Marconnet has joined the French World Cup squad following the failure of Christian Califano's appeal against a seven-week suspension.
Marconnet has officially been named as a replacement for injured flanker Thomas Lievremont, however with plenty of cover in the back-row, coach Jean Claude Skrela has decided to extend his options at prop.
Marconnet, 23, has played eight tests for France since making his debut last year, but missed out on selection in the original squad of 30 after suffering a shoulder injury.
"When I missed out on selection for the World Cup squad I cried," Marconnet said. "It was the biggest disappointment of my sporting career. To link up with the squad now will be an immense pleasure."
