Stade Francais will be without Juan Manuel Leguizamon until December 5 after the Argentine back-row was hit with an 80-day ban for making contact with the eye area of Toulouse's Jean Bouilhou.

The incident occurred in the closing stages of the two great rivals' Top 14 meeting at the Stade Ernest Wallon on August 28. Leguizamon, who had been yellow carded earlier in the encounter for a separate offence, escaped sanction at the time but was subsequently cited for an alleged eye-gouge and summoned to appear before a French league disciplinary panel.

Although it was ruled at Wednesday's hearing that the Pumas ace had not been guilty of gouging, he was found to have made contact with the eye are, thus prompting the panel to suspend the player for 80 days.

Leguizamon now has ten days to consider whether to appeal a ban which would see him miss Stade's opening two fixtures in the Amlin Challenge Cup as well as Argentina's autumnal internationals.
