Biarritz have brought in Argentine international prop Francisco Gomez Kodela on a short-term contract.

The Top 14 side are in the midst of an injury crisis in the forwards with new arrival and former Australian international Matt Dunning forced to return back down under for treatment on a spinal injury. Coupled with Dunning's absence is a long-term injury to flanker Magnus Lund.

The former England international is expected to miss around seven months after being forced to undergo surgery on his ruptured anterior cruciate knee ligaments.

Gomez Kodela - aged 26 - has four caps for the Pumas and he is hoping for the paper work to be ratified by the powers that be in time for him to make his debut on Friday when Biarritz travel to rivals Brive. Biarritz's front-row resources are currently at a premium with Fabien Barcella currently with the national team in New Zealand.
