Profile

Noon won his first three caps on the tour of North America in 2001 scoring his first Test try in the second of the two clashes against Canada. He was later involved in the 2003 RWC warm-up games against Wales and France but was not selected as part of Clive Woodward's squad for the tournament.

He had to wait another two years for his next caps, starting all the 2005 Six Nations matches and, in March that year, became only the third England player (following Cyril Lowe in 1914 and John Carleton in 1980), to score a hat trick of tries against Scotland.

He was first choice for the 2006 Six Nations campaign, followed by that summer's tour to Australia and the autumn series. In February 2007, he led England Saxons to a 34-5 victory over Italy A at Exeter and although he did not figure in the Six Nations was recalled for the summer tour of South Africa.

Non was selected for the 2007 Rugby World Cup and started England's opening two games against the USA and South Africa but suffered left medial collateral knee ligament that ended his tournament.

He then missed out on selection for the opening 2008 Six Nations match against Wales but an injury to Mike Tindall opened the door for him and he started against Italy in Rome the following week. Retaining his spot against France, the centre's thunderous tackle on Cedric Heymans after just five minutes cleared the way for England's first try and kick started England's Six Nations campaign. But it was in the final match against Ireland when he proved his worth in attack, earning the Man of the Match award after scoring England's third try to clinch a 33-10 victory.

The hard-running centre toured New Zealand that summer before going on to feature in all of England's autumn internationals that year. at the start of 2009 he was retained in martin Johnson's Elite Player Squad for the Six Nations.

A former England Students and U21s representative, Noon was also a member of the first England 7s side to win in Hong Kong in 2002. He was also part of the England Saxons side that captured the 2004 Churchill Cup, scoring a try in the final.

He joined Newcastle Falcons in the 1998-99 season and helped them claim the Powergen Cup in 2001 and 2004.
