Perpignan strengthened their grip at the summit of the Top14 table with a 25-9 victory over Toulon at Stade Aime Giral.

A penalty try and a further first half score from winger Farid Sid put the Catalans in control of the contest with Toulon reduced to 14-men midway through the opening period when scrum-half Matt Henjak was sin-binned. The visitors' disciplinary woes continued after the break with centre Tom May and replacement lock Esteban Lozada also seeing yellow.

Fly-half Sebastien Fauque kicked all of Toulon's points and his second penalty shortly after the re-start offered hope of a comeback but they were unable to overhaul the visitors with Christophe Manas sealing the win with his side's third try to ensure they stayed on top of the table.

Toulouse bounced back from their surprise loss to Racing Metro last time out with a thumping 41-3 victory over Bourgoin at Stade Ernest Wallon. A brace of tries from Florian Fritz and further scores from Cedric Heymans, Louis Picamoles and Alberto Vernet Basualdo put the hosts on course for victory with Jean Baptiste Elissalde adding 16 points with the boot.

Fellow high-flyers Castres and Clermont Auvergne battled to a 9-9 draw at Stade Pierre Antoine. Seremaia Bai put Castres ahead with a penalty midway through the first half but his effort was cancelled out by Clermont's Romain Teulet. A drop goal from Anthony Floch edged the visitors ahead but Teulet levelled things up before the break. His third penalty put them ahead again before Bai snatched a share of the spoils for his side.

Elsewhere, Stade Francais weathered a spirited display by Albi to record a 23-18 victory at Stade Jean Bouin. Tries from Pascal Pape and Mark Gasnier proved enough to carry the home side past the kicking exploits of Albi's Kevin Boulogne and Iulian Dumitras.

Montpellier shut out Montauban 19-0 at Stade Yves du Manoir. Fullback Federico Todeschini weighed in with 14 points including a conversion following a try from Francois Trinh-Duc.

Brive held off a second half comeback from Bayonne to notch a 19-14 win at Stade Amedee-Domenech. A try from scrum-half Shaun Perry and the boot of Fabrice Estebanez looked to have put Brive in control of the contest but second half scores from David Roumieu and Jean Jo Marmouyet had them hanging on for victory.
