Racing Metro heaped woe on Biarritz with a 23-20 victory in their Top 14 clash at Parc des Sports Aguilera. The Parisians kept the pressure on the Top 14 leaders with their seventh successive league win while their Basque opponents continue to slide following their fifth straight defeat. Biarritz scrum-half Dimitri Tachvili and Racing fly-half Jonathan Wisniewski exchanged penalties in the first half that saw the sides enter the break locked at 6-6 before a try from Takudzwa Ngwenya gave the hosts the lead. Yachvili added the conversion before pressure from Racing led to a penalty try with the conversion from Wisniewski levelling the scores once again. A drop goal from Wisniewski and a try from winger Sireli Bobo crossed just past the hour mark saw the game swing in the visitors' favour. But a yellow card for replacement prop Mikaele Tuugahala put them on the back foot again and Yachvili closed the gap with a try that he also converted. However, Racing held on for a valuable victory that lifts them into fifth place in the table and above Toulon who they face in Paris this weekend. © Scrum.com
