Racing Metro director of rugby Pierre Berbizier has been cited for comments made following his side's narrow 21-17 loss to Clermont Auvergne in Friday night's Top 14 playoff match.

The former French coach launched a scathing attack on assistant referee Christophe Berdos after watching his side lose lock Santiago Dellape to the sin bin following an off the ball altercation with Morgan Parra. He then followed it up on Sunday with an attack on Ligue National de Rugby (LNR) president Pierre-Yves Revol on the France 2 television channel.

"You can't get away from the fact that the game changed," he told Sudradio. "Mr Berdos turned the game with the yellow card. I don't know what he's been doing but his refereeing has been very, very severe. My players did not deserve it. We are asked to respect referees but you understand it will be difficult after that. I will never respect Mr Berdos again."

Suitably riled, Berbizier then launched his attack on Revol, who he claimed was a hypocrite. "We don't need to see the fake smiles of Mr Revol," he claimed. "After all the thanks, let him go to the referee's changing room first."

On Sunday he was at it again, this time on French TV. "I'd ask [Revol] to recall the 1993 final between Grenoble and Castres, of which he was president, and how that game was won in the most scandalous way," he said. "I often find that it is those who claim to be a defender of values that tend to be the one who don't respect those values."

Meanwhile Toulouse captain Thierry Dusautoir has claimed that his side will continue to prioritise the Heineken Cup in spite of their impressive 35-12 win over Castres at the weekend. Toulouse play French champions Perpignan next weekend in Montpellier for a place in the Top 14 final but Dusautoir continued the Toulousain mantra that the double was impossible.

"The priority is the H Cup but we wanted to give our all for this game," he told Midi Olympique. "We have won nothing yet but we do want to win at least one title."
