Bayonne have confirmed a raft of signings as they look to bolster their place in the Top 14 next season, with Stormers fullback Joe Pietersen heading the list.

Pietersen, 25, is a major coup for the club after they avoided the drop from the top flight due to Montauban's administrative relegation.

The Western Province regular is a competent goal-kicker and will likely sacrifice his hopes of winning Springbok honours to join his new club.

Joining Pietersen at the club are Racing prop Clément Baïocco, a squad member during France's Six Nations run, ex-Calvisano second-row Cameron Treloar and former Western Force utility back Garth Ziegler.

Bayonne have also plundered the stocks at Montauban, signing up scrum-half Julien Audy and lock Abdellatif Boutaty for next season.
