Tiger Woods and Dustin Johnson have both confirmed they will make their next professional appearance at the Memorial Tournament at the end of the month.

Woods is looking for an improvement on his last PGA Tour appearance - which saw him finish well down the field at The Players Championship - ahead of the US Open in June. He confirmed his appearance at Muirfield Village on his official website.

Johnson, meanwhile, will be making his return to competitive action after missing the last few months of action with a back injury.

"Obviously, I can't wait to get back out and compete," Johnson said in a statement. "I came into this year with some big goals, including making our Ryder Cup team, so I've got some serious ground to make up this summer."

Johnson currently sits 21st in the standings for the US Ryder Cup team, although he would likely be a strong contender for one of captain Davis Love III's wildcard picks even if he fails to qualify for the team automatically, should he show some form between now and September.

Players champion Matt Kuchar has also confirmed his participation at the event, although world No. 1 Luke Donald has still to formally announce his presence - despite indicating on Twitter that he will indeed tee it up at the event.
