Sweden's Fredrik Jacobsen claimed the clubhouse lead at the Travelers Championship as weather caused an abrupt end to play at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell.

Jacobsen followed up his opening round 65 with a four-under 66 to hold a one-stroke lead over Nathan Green of Australia and American Charley Hoffman, who are yet to complete round two. Blake Adams, Roland Thatcher and Stuart Appleby all finished their 18 hole, and sat a further stroke back at seven-under when inclement weather stopped the remainder of the field.

Indeed, there are a number of players still to complete their second rounds after play was suspended on a couple of occasions on Friday due to the threat of thunderstorms. At 6:25pm local time play was called off, with the second round scheduled to resume on Saturday morning.

Englishman Brian Davis is three strokes off the pace after a second successive round of 67, while overnight leader David Mathis slipped to three-under following a 73 on Friday.

US Open winner Webb Simpson is at five-under after his second-round 69. While Ian Poulter and Padraig Harrington sit on one-under mid-way through their second rounds.
