McGladrey Classic Leaderboard

Davis Love III boosted his hopes of finishing inside the top 100 on the PGA Tour for a 27th successive season after he fired himself to the top of the leaderboard at the McGladrey Classic in Georgia.

Love - the host at Sea Island this week - continued to exhibit his superior knowledge of the course as he signed for a four-under 66 to move to 13-under-par.

Victory this week - in what would be his first PGA Tour title since 2008, would surely help Love banish painful memories of the Ryder Cup, when as captain he saw his USA side beaten by Europe at Medinah last month.

Love shares the lead with Jim Furyk - one of his Ryder Cup wildcard picks - after the world No. 23 also went round in 66.

Overnight leader Arjun Atwal is two shots off the pace on 11-under alongside DJ Trahan, while youngster Bud Cauley kept his hopes of a maiden PGA Tour title alive with a 68 to sit at 10-under.

The round of the day belonged to defending champion Ben Crane, who stormed up the leaderboard after a blistering 62 - he is one of a host of players on nine-under, but there was not such good news for Englishman Greg Owen, who slipped further back after his third-round 71.

Elsewhere, Vijay Singh (68) and David Toms (70) are at eight-under, while Zach Johnson stayed on five-under after going round in level par.
