Luke Donald jumped above Tiger Woods to No. 2 in the latest world rankings following his victory at the Dunlop Phoenix on Sunday.

Donald led the tournament in Japan from start to finish, eventually securing a five-shot victory over Hideki Matsuyama. The Englishman now flies to Dubai for the season ending DP World Tour Championship, hoping to make it back-to-back wins and end on a high a season that has not quite lived up to the heights of 2011.

"Boom! Third win of the year - honoured to add my name to the great Champions that have won the Dunlop Phoenix Tournament," Donald said on Twitter. "Off to Dubai now via Seoul - my last tournament of the year, let's see if I can give it a run at back-to-back victories."

In a busy week of golf events, Adam Scott won at the Australian Masters - continuing a streak that has seen him claim a professional title every year since 2001.

The Australian had perhaps the most heart-wrenching meltdown of the year at the Open Championship, and admitted that victory on home soil had helped him come to terms with his disappointment at Royal Lytham & St Annes.

"In a small way, yes, but I haven't been dwelling on what happened at the Open at all," he said. "I put that out of my head the week afterwards. I had to, otherwise you would never come back to a golf course, would you? It was kind of painful."

Scott remains fifth in the world rankings despite his victory, but other winners last week have noticed a significant rise. SA Open champion Henrik Stenson is back inside the world's top 100 at 71st after his victory - while Miguel Angel Jimenez, who became the oldest European Tour winner ever at the Hong Kong Open, rose 39 places to 59th.
