Rapax's Pastor Maldonado comfortably won the GP2 feature race at the German Grand Prix to take his fourth victory of the season and extend his lead in the championship standings.

Sergio Perez (Barwa Addax) came closest to worrying the Venezuelan but could not find a way past and had to settle for second place after the mandatory pit stops. Charles Pic, who started the race from pole, finished third for Arden.

Dani Clos (Racing Engineering) finished fourth ahead of ART's Jules Bianci, who picked up the bonus point for the fastest lap after coming through the field from ninth on the grid. The top eight was rounded out by Marcus Ericson (Super Nova), Adrian Zaugg (Trident) and Oliver Turvey (iSport).

Sam Bird's (ART) run of terrible luck continued after he started the race down the grid due to a qualifying spin on Friday and then felt the wrath of the stewards when he collided with Geido van de Garde. He was issued with a drive-through penalty and eventually finished the race 14th.

Ex-Renault F1 driver Romain Grosjean also had a tough time on his return to GP2. The DAMS driver had to pit after he was hit from behind by Christian Vietoris's Racing Engineering on the first lap and, by the time he had pitted for repairs, he was three laps down.
