Nico Rosberg says he is enjoying having the quickest car in qualifying and is sure Mercedes is making progress with its race pace.

Lewis Hamilton took a dominant pole position at Silverstone but Rosberg managed to ensure it is an all-Mercedes front row to secure the team's third lockout of the season. Rosberg said he took extra confidence from being able to enter qualifying knowing he has the quickest car and is confident the team has the potential to convert the starting positions in to a strong result on Sunday.

"It's definitely a really great feeling going in to qualifying definitely having the fastest car," Rosberg said. "It's really cool, so it's just a great job that the team has done to get us to where we are now. And we're also improving on Sundays - I'm confident that we've improved - so tomorrow should be a bit better.

"I'm sure there is still going to be other teams that are a little bit stronger than us but maybe starting up front for sure is going to help and maybe it's still going to be possible to get a great result."
