Brive have been given a June deadline to turn around their perilous financial situation by French rugby's financial watchdog, the DNACG.

The Top 14 strugglers were facing the possibility of losing out on five points due to their run in with the organisation, who have been busy in recent seasons following the demotion of Montauban.

However, Les Corrèziens have been told that they now have until June to find €500,000 to remedy the situation.

Brive have been forced to dip into their reserve fund after making a loss last season and have been searching for the funds to balance their books ever since.

The players have been asked to take a 10% pay cut, but club president Jean-Jacques Bertrand believes they can come through their crisis.

"I'm relieved and confident," he said. "We can now concentrate on our sporting recovery where we need all our talent."
