Gavin Henson and Lewis Moody have emerged as doubts for the countries' respective Six Nations campaigns after both players picked up injuries whilst on club duty on Saturday.

Former Wales centre Henson, who is trying to resurrect his international career with Saracens after 21 months out of the game, was brought on as a replacement in the closing stages of the first half in his new side's Heineken Cup clash with Leinster in Dublin.

However, he was then forced off just after the hour mark with a suspected calf injury, thus jeopardising his hopes of inclusion in Warren Gatland's squad for this year's Championship, which gets underway on February 4 with Wales hosting England in Cardiff. Wales are also sweating on tight-head Adam Jones who injured his left elbow during the Ospreys' defeat at London Irish.

Moody's participation in the Championship opener is also now in doubt as the England skipper hobbled off in the 59th minute of Bath's victory over Aironi at the Recreation Ground with a knee injury. As with Henson, the severity of the damage has yet to be established but Bath boss Steve Meehan offered an optimistic prognosis.

"To the best of my knowledge, he's twisted his knee in the driven line-out and at this stage he's very confident that it's something not particularly serious at all," he said. "I haven't spoken to our medical team but with these things, it's 24 or 48 hours later. He doesn't seem too concerned - it maybe a week out - but he seems quite confident there's nothing sinister there. He'll be having treatment tomorrow, keeping it iced and elevated."

Moody added, "I am having a scan [on Monday]. I have absolutely no concerns about the game against Wales. I will be fine."
