The Cardiff Blues have bolstered their front-row resources with the signing of hooker Andy Kyriacou from Ulster. The 29-year-old was born in Liverpool but qualifies for Ireland. He will move to the Blues during the summer having spent the last three seasons with the Heineken Cup finalists, and fills the gap left by the departure of Rhys Thomas to Wasps. Kyriacou previously had spells with Sale, Leeds and Saracens, and Cardiff forwards coach Justin Burnell has welcomed his addition to the region's squad. He said: "Andi has played a lot of rugby for Ulster in the PRO12 and I'm sure he's learnt a hell of a lot from one of the best hookers in Europe, at present, Rory Best. "So he will be a good addition to our options at hooker. He is signed on a two-year contract and further strengthens our front row following the news of the signing of Campese Ma'afu from Australia." © ESPN Sports Media Ltd.
