London Irish back-row Chris Hala'ufia has been cited for an following the Exiles' Heineken Cup win over Racing Metro.

The 33-year-old Tongan has been called to account by citing commissioner Gordon Black over his first-half challenge on Racing full-back Gaetan Germain, as the Exiles kept their last-eight hopes alive with a 34-14 bonus-point win in France.

No date has yet been set for a hearing for Hala'ufia, who has only recently returned from a seven-week ban for a dangerous high tackle on Gloucester's Olly Morgan. If he is found guilty he could face a long ban given a disciplinary record that has seen him serve four bans over the last two years.

A European Rugby Cup statement read: "Hala'ufia is alleged to have carried out a dangerous tackle on the Racing Metro 92 full-back, Gaetan Germain, during the first half of the game in contravention of Law 10.4(e). The complaint was made by citing commissioner, Gordon Black (Ireland).

"A judicial officer and a date for the hearing will be announced as soon as is practicable."
