A record 46,365 fans packed Lansdowne Road for Leinster's resounding Heineken Cup victory over Bath on Saturday, the largest crowd for a Pool game in the UK and Ireland.

The reigning champions took charge of Pool 3 with a 52-27 success, scoring seven tries in the process.

The bumper gate also contributed to a new record attendance for a round, with 185,546 supporters flocking to the 12 matches.

As well as the Lansdowne Road showpiece, 32,000 fans saw Harlequins upset Toulouse at Le Stadium, while the crowds topped 20,000 at Thomond Park and Welford Road, where Munster beat the Scarlets and Leicester saw off Clermont Auvergne.

Stade Francais currently hold the record for the largest crowd at a European Pool match, and their mark of 76,569 against Quins at the Stade de France in 2008-09 should stand for some time yet.
