Edinburgh coach Michael Bradley will call in a few favours when compiling his dossier on Toulouse, his side's Heineken Cup quarter-final opponents.
The Scottish side booked a home tie in the last eight by beating London Irish 34-11 at Murrayfield on Sunday and Bradley will now use ties at his old club, Connacht, to gather information on the French giants.
The Irish side played Toulouse twice during the Pool stages - prior to Friday's win over Harlequins - and Bradley is keen to continue what he already believes is a "huge step forward".
"I will ring Eric Elwood, the Connacht coach, in Galway and get all the information I need and hopefully we can plan the downfall of Toulouse," he said.
"This is a huge step forward for Edinburgh rugby, first and foremost, and to the players here who made a commitment to each in September of this year when we set out some objectives and how we wanted to play the game
"We made a commitment to areas we haven't been good at in the past and we have had some brilliant games here at Murrayfield against Racing Metro and the Cardiff Blues."
Bradley's free-flowing gameplan has chimed with a young team at Edinburgh, and he was thrilled with their control against the Exiles. Wingers Tim Visser and Lee Jones, fullback Jim Thompson and Man of the Match Netani Talei crossed in a comfortable win that shunted Cardiff Blues from the top of Pool 2.
"The boys have achieved what they set out to do so far and it's great for Edinburgh rugby," Bradley said. "I thought we played well and controlled the game against London Irish. We were relatively comfortable in the first half and we just had to do more of the same in the second half when it got a bit rocky when we turned over a few ball. We were fantastic near the end and we have always got stronger near the end of games this season."
