James keen to 'get stuck into' Leinster

Brock James is keen to "get stuck into" Leinster after guiding Clermont Auvergne into the Heineken Cup semi-finals.

Les Jaunards defeated Saracens 22-3 at Vicarage Road on Sunday, with James contributing 17 points and Lee Byrne the game's only try, to set up a last-four clash against the reigning champions in Bordeaux on April 29.

Leinster cruised past Cardiff Blues in their quarter-final at Lansdowne Road on Saturday but Clermont will pose an altogether different test, with James also keen to expunge a painful loss to the Irish side in 2010.

"Leinster won the competition last year and they beat us a few years ago, and have had a good victory in the quarter-final, but we have put more importance in the Heineken Cup this season," James said. "We are keen to get stuck into them."

After ending their long wait for a French title in 2012, Clermont have placed added importance on Europe's top competition in recent seasons and James admitted that it has moved up the agenda in the current campaign.

"We have talked about the Heineken Cup a little bit more than we normally do," he said. "We have decided as a group it is something we want to achieve this season. We have taken the next step to the semi-final and we have a difficult match to come against Leinster, but we will prepare as well as we can for that."
