Glasgow Warriors' versatile back Federico Aramburu has announced that he will retire at the end of the season.

With Glasgow facing a key match on Saturday against Connacht - which decides whether they will make the RaboDirect PRO12 play-offs or not, Aramburu is going out to end his career on a high.

The former Argentinean international has 22 caps for the Pumas and his international career also saw him take in the 2007 World Cup. Glasgow boss Sean Lineen has paid tribute to the centre-come-wing saying: "Federico Aramburu has been a tremendous asset for Glasgow Warriors both on and off the pitch. He's been both a key player and a leader just about every time he's taken the field for us; his consistency of performance is first class and as a coach it's great to be sure of what you're going to get.

"Away from the pitch, he's been a fantastic influence in terms of the way he conducts himself. He's a consummate professional and a very positive guy even when he hasn't been picked. He's used the benefit of his experience at the top levels of the game to set standards and pass on advice - our younger backs especially have taken a lot from him and hold him in very high esteem."
