Ireland have revealed that star flanker Stephen Ferris is an injury doubt ahead of their three-Test tour to New Zealand.

Ferris sustained a calf injury in Ulster's 42-14 loss to Leinster in last Saturday's Heineken Cup final and Ireland's team manager Michael Kearney has claimed that a final decision concerning Ferris will be made on Monday. Leinster's Kevin McLaughlin is on standby.

Leinster scrum-half Isaac Boss is another injury doubt for Ireland and will miss Sunday's RaboDirect PRO12 final. There was better news for Ireland, however, concerning the fitness of Paul O'Connell. The second-row has been struggling with a knee ligament injury but is said to be back running in training.

Leinster back-row Sean O'Brien will miss Sunday's PRO12 final after being forced to undergo some treatment on his knee, but Ireland are confident that he will travel to New Zealand.
