Glasgow Warriors' Champions Cup game with Racing 92 in Paris has been postponed in the wake of the overnight attacks in the French capital which left at least 128 dead.

The match had been left in doubt following the attacks across Paris and both Glasgow and Racing 92 confirmed on Saturday morning that it had been postponed.

A statement on the Racing 92 website read: "Racing 92 vs Glasgow match is cancelled today following the tragic events of last night. We expect more information about a possible rearrangement and will get back to you as soon as possible."

The Warriors had said on Friday night that their players were safe in a hotel on the outskirts of Paris as they waited to learn if the game would go ahead.

The Warriors had travelled to France for their Champions Cup opener against Racing, which had been due to take place at the Stade Yves-du-Manoir in Colombe outside Paris on Saturday afternoon.

"We're all safe in our team hotel on the outskirts of Paris," a team spokesman had told Press Association Sport.

Glasgow coach Gregor Townsend tweeted: "Really sad to hear what's happening in this beautiful city. Hope all Warriors fans are safe tonight. Use #PorteOuverte if you need shelter."

The #PorteOuverte hashtag was used on social media by Parisians who opened their doors to those seeking shelter as the attacks took place in several locations.
