Toulouse edged past French rivals Oyonnax 24-18 in the Champions Cup on Saturday. The hosts fell short of getting a potentially key bonus point with their three tries coming thanks to efforts from Timoci Matanavou, Maxime Médard and Gael Fickou. But a poor setpiece with the Toulouse lineout struggling prevented them from getting the foothold to build a score. Oyonnax led at the break 6-3 following a first half of poor quality but just three minutes into the second-half, Matanavou's magical footwork saw him get the first try on the board. The lineout continued to falter but Medard's breakaway try in the 59th minute saw them get a 11-point advantage. In the final 10 minutes the game opened up to allow Vincent Martin and Fabien Cibray to score for Oyonnax but Fickou's 74th minute score cemented the victory for Toulouse. Oyonnax will take heart from their performance and the losing bonus point. © ESPN Sports Media Ltd
