Exeter duo Tom Johnson and Haydn Thomas have agreed new deals at Sandy Park.

Flanker Johnson, 28, has signed a new two-year contract while scrum-half Thomas has committed for a further three years with the ambitious Aviva Premiership club.

"Obviously this is very positive news for the club that we already have got players who are prepared to commit to the club over the long term," head coach Rob Baxter said.

"Both Tom and Haydn have played a big part in what we have done so far this season in the Premiership and they can see that we are a progressive club who are looking to move forward all the time.

"It is decisions like this that demonstrates that players want to buy into what we are trying to achieve here. I'm delighted that both the guys are willing to be part of what we want to achieve in the long term."
