Racing to switch Saracens clash to Nantes

Saracens' globe-trotting season is to take in yet another new venue next year with their Heineken Cup clash with Racing Metro set to be played in Nantes. The Premiership side will take their home tie with their Top 14 rivals to the King Baudouin Stadium in Belgium on Saturday and Racing have now confirmed that the return fixture will move from their usual Stade Olympique Yves-du-Manoir in Colombes to the 38,000-capacity La Beaujoire Stadium on France's Atlantic coast. The stadium is the usual home of Ligue 1 football side Nantes but has staged rugby before with the venue featuring during the 2007 Rugby World Cup and more recently playing host to France's victory over Fiji in 2010. Racing beat Munster in their euro opener at the Stade de France last weekend while Saracens have already staged games at Twickenham and Wembley as well as their traditional Vicarage Road ground this season. The free-thinking Sarries have also been thwarted in their attempts to stage their Heineken Cup clash with Edinburgh in Cape Town with the PRO12 side turning down the opportunity citing their 'commitment to their fans'. They also saw their hopes of staging their euro date with Munster in New York dashed due to 'technical issues'. Saracens are due to move into Allianz Park home in Hendon next year with their first scheduled match at their new home against Exeter Chiefs scheduled for February 16. © ESPN Sports Media Ltd.
