'We can give Toulon a run for their money'

Saracens' director of rugby Mark McCall insists Saracens have nothing to fear when they come up against Top 14 big-spenders Toulon in Sunday's Heineken Cup semi-final.

Toulon boast an array of proven stars with Jonny Wilkinson, Bakkies Botha, Frederic Michalak and Matt Giteau in line to play some part in the knockout match as they chase silverware on two fronts. They are currently riding high in the Top 14 and have their sights set on upsetting Saracens on Sunday in front of what is expected to be a small crowd by Twickenham's standards.

But despite their impressive squad McCall, who will not have Will Fraser to call upon due to injury, is adamant they have enough in their armoury to cause Toulon some difficulty. McCall said: "It seems to me that Toulon have brought in the right kind of people this time around.

"They have signed players who have been successful in other places but who are still motivated and ambitious. That's critical and when you bring together 15-20 very motivated world-class players, then you'll get some success. But at the same time we're in good form ourselves and have lots of great players and we're confident we can give them a run for their money.

"We've been on a great journey in this year's campaign. We beat Racing Metro twice, Munster once and then got a great win against Ulster in the quarter-finals."

And Toulon have named their squad for the match with the 29-man party packed with household names. Two of their new recruits - veteran back-rower Rocky Elsom experienced Springbok Danie Rossouw - both get the nod while from an English point-of-view, Wilkinson, Delon and Steffon Armitage, Andrew Sheridan, Simon Shaw and Nick Kennedy could feature.
