Kayser insists Clermont have their feet on the ground

Clermont hooker Benjamin Kayser says his side are not getting carried away with the prospect of reaching a second consecutive Heineken Cup final, despite their comprehensive victory over Leicester on Saturday.

Clermont, who lost to Toulon in last year's final, have bounced back this season to set up a semi-final against Saracens, with the winner going on to face either Toulon or Munster in the title decider at the Millenium Stadium.

But Kayser insists Clermont are not thinking of avenging last year's final defeat, instead focusing on their visit to Saracens later this month.

"The semi-final will be a very high-level game against a team with great power and mobility," said Kayser. "Tactically we must get things right and pay attention to every single detail. Physically we have to match any team as well as having the right mind-set.

"We showed our maturity in that game against Leicester, especially in the last few minutes when we had to defend our line. We will use that maturity to concentrate on each game at a time, whatever competition it is.

"We have several fronts to fight on and our experience will be important, but we didn't mention the Top 14 in the dressing room after victory over Leicester. We wanted to celebrate winning a big match, a European quarter-final against a very strong team."
